Meal Plans

How do “Flex Dollars” work with my meal plan?

At the beginning of each semester, every student with a meal plan receives $100 or $150 flex dollars; pending the meal plan. These flex dollars are "loaded" onto the students DSU ID card and can be used at all dining locations. When items are purchased at these locations, the student presents their DSU ID card and the cashier deducts the cost from their flex dollar account. You may purchase additional flex dollars to be added to a student's account by calling the Cashier's Office at 302-857-6220.

How does “Equivalency” work with my meal plan?

Equivalency is the term used when a student elects to dine at a retail location on campus rather than a residential location. They have the opportunity to exchange a meal for a dollar value to be used in the Marketplace and Grille Works. The equivalency exchange rate for breakfast is $3.42. The exchange rate for lunch and dinner is $4.62.
